NextGen Enrollment
To sign up for Sandhills Motoring Club’s NextGen Program, please read the full pledge to acknowledge the SMC rules and then fill out the form below. NextGen is open to all High School Students ages 14-18.
NextGen brings students together to learn about cars, serve the community, and take part in Sandhills Motoring Club activities. By signing, I agree to these commitments whenever I represent NextGen or participate in a Club activity. The driving commitments apply when I drive; members do not need to be licensed drivers to participate.
1 Respect and conduct: I will treat members, guests, volunteers, staff, and the public with respect. I will follow event instructions and venue rules, use appropriate language, and refrain from bullying, harassment, discrimination, threats, and unsafe behavior.
2 Club activities and property: I will arrive prepared, stay in authorized areas, and follow directions from Club leaders and event supervisors. I will respect vehicles, tools, facilities, and personal property. I will not enter, touch, move, or operate a vehicle or equipment without the owner’s permission and any required adult supervision.
3 Safe and lawful driving: If I drive to or during a Club activity, I will hold a valid permit or license, obey its current restrictions, have permission to use the vehicle, and follow applicable insurance requirements. I will obey traffic signs, signals, speed limits, parking rules, and the directions of law enforcement and event staff. I will wear a seat belt and make sure passengers are properly restrained.
4 Focus and judgment on the road: I will not drive while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or any condition that makes driving unsafe. I will not race, do burnouts, drive recklessly, show off, or pressure anyone else to do so. I will avoid phone use and other distractions and follow the stricter mobile-device, passenger, supervision, and driving-hour limits that apply to my permit or license.
5 Passengers and reporting concerns: I will carry passengers only when my license, the vehicle owner, and my parent(s) or guardian permit it. I will tell a Club leader promptly about an accident, injury, unsafe condition, or serious conduct concern at a Club activity, and I will contact emergency services when needed.
6 Accountability: I understand that Club leaders may remove me from an activity or suspend or end my NextGen membership for violating this pledge or other Club rules. I will follow any additional written event rules provided to members.
