Driven Beauty: Celebrating Car Culture Through Art

Presented by the Arts Council of Moore County, in partnership with Sandhills Motoring, Driven Beauty explores the automobile as more than transportation – as an expression of design, craftsmanship, creativity, and culture. Hosted at the historic Campbell House in Southern Pines, this two-part event will bring together thoughtfully selected automobiles and the work of local artists who capture the automotive world through painting and photography.

This special exhibit combines photos of toy cars that look like they are truly parked in real-world locations, paintings of automobiles so life-like they can be mistaken for photographs, and layered, car logos & imagery with real depth. This show features photographs by David J. Knight, paintings by Lory Lockwood & mixed media pieces by Tony Watts.

The opening reception will introduce Driven Beauty with an evening celebrating the shared artistry of automobiles and visual art. Guests will enjoy a preview of the exhibition, meet participating artists, and experience a select collection of automobiles displayed around the Campbell House.

Registration is below – we are looking for 10-15 cars to put on special display at the Campbell House during the reception, please indicate your participation on your registration sign up.
