In Memoriam
It is with heavy heart that we share sad news. On Monday, August 11th, Tom Sabata, local mechanic extraordinaire and friend of Sandhills Motoring passed away after a long illness. For those who knew Tom, he owned and operated Classic And Customs Autoworks in Carthage with his son Adam. A master at his craft with a kind and generous spirit, Tom will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00am at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel (4888 U.S. Rte 1, Vass, NC ) with Pastor Sammy Frye officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. His wife, Gary, has requested the local car clubs to attend his celebration.

We will depart Moore County Airport immediately following Motors and Moore and head to the Chapel for those who wish to attend.
